The Bharat Yatra or India March was launched by Kailash Satyarthi on 11 September, 2017, and set in motion the world’s largest youth-led mobilisation for all children in need of care and protection.
In just 4 months, the Yatra was able to get pledges from over 1 million people. We were able to engage diverse groups of people from across the nation to free children from the violence of sexual abuse. This was the India leg of the 100 Million for 100 Million Campaign, and led to the mobilisation of more than 10 million people against the sexual abuse and trafficking of children.
The 100 Million campaign, launched in 2016, calls upon 100 Million children and youth to speak up and act on behalf of those who cannot, to build a child-friendly world. By 2019, the campaign will operate in over 60 countries worldwide and would have secured 40 million supporters.
