KSCF-BAJAJ PARTNERSHIP

Action For A Child Friendly World

To ensure all stakeholders and partners we work with have a strong child rights education and awareness focus embedded in their day to day work, Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation (KSCF) is partnering with Bajaj Auto to strengthen the civil society network across India. The Bajaj Group, in its quest for nation building, has been a valuable partner to KSCF.

Towards this end, Bajaj Auto is supporting the formation of NGO networks and confederations who will be working to protect and promote child rights by addressing issues of child trafficking, child labour and child sexual abuse.

This partnership with Bajaj Auto is also enabling KSCF to produce path breaking and enlightening researches on the target issues. KSCF is also fostering master trainers who will ensure correct knowledge is imparted to community groups on various laws and schemes of the government which can prove to be beneficial for the project communities or Bal Mitra Grams in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka. A total of 147 training sessions have been conducted by the identified master trainers who also serve as the Community Social Workers. Through the trainings more than 3,632 community members have been sensitized so far.

Under this partnership, a training module for teachers “Safety and Security of Children in Schools”, has also been developed which has been useful during training of 4,954 government school teachers in all districts of Assam and training of 240 teachers in other states in 2020.

Campaign Against Child Trafficking and Child Abuse

With the kind support of Bajaj Auto and Bajaj Finance, KSCF has been successfully campaigning and raising awareness on the issue of child sexual abuse through its flagship campaign with NDTV – Justice for Every Child.

This campaign aims to intervene in 5,000 cases of child sexual abuse and rape in 100 Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs) in 100 districts across the country with the highest backlog of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, cases across India. The legal representation of POCSO and trafficking cases in Rajasthan and Maharashtra have been possible due to the support received from Bajaj.

To ensure the cases of child sexual abuse are dealt with sensitively and in a child friendly way by law enforcement authorities especially the police, KSCF has been able to create Child Friendly Police Stations in Rajasthan and Maharashtra with the support of Bajaj Auto and Bajaj Finance. Thirty nine additional child friendly police stations will become operational this year.

KSCF's COVID-19 Response to Children

Since the onset of COVID-19 pandemic, Bajaj Auto has been a key supporter of KSCF which has played an instrumental role in timely and adequate response to children in need during the times of crisis in the states of Rajasthan and Maharashtra on our part.

Under this partnership with Bajaj Auto, KSCF has been able to distribute COVID-19 care kits to all Child Care Institutions in Rajasthan and Maharashtra along with a ‘How-to use an oxygen concentrator’ video to facilitate correct usage by the institutions.

The Child Care Institutions in Rajasthan and Maharashtra have also been supported through effective counselling sessions of children as well as through provision of emergency support to vulnerable children.
