11th January holds a very important day for the child rights movement globally as it’s the birthday of Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi.

On this day to ignite and enhance compassion among citizens, young and old, regarding children and bring them together to fight against the various forms of exploitation of children and ensure that the world becomes a safe place for them. Surakshit Bachpan Diwas has been initiated from 2020 by Bachpan Bachao Andolan and Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation.

Last year Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Railways and Commerce and Industry graced the occasion as the chief guest and gave away the Hummingbird Awards to three deserving, brave police officers. The event was presided by our Founder and Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, who expressed his sincere thanks to Shri Piyush Goyal for extending support and assistance of Ministry of Railways in fighting the menace of Child trafficking. The beautiful evening came to an end with a stellar performance by Indian Ocean band.

This year to celebrate Surakshit Bachpan Diwas we are organizing a series of events to bring the focus on child protection.
