A two day training program on child protection laws was organized by Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation’s Training Division for Investigation Officers from Uttar Pradesh Police on 3rd and 4th February 2022. The training was attended by 139 officers from all the districts of State. The main topics covered during the training were Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) of Children Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, investigation of POCSO cases and online child sexual abuse.
This training program was conducted in response to a Habeas Corpus filed in Allahabad High Court in which the High Court ordered for training of Investigation Officers on Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) of Children Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. This training was the first amongst a series of training programs planned across next 12 months.
The feedback received from the participants and Additional SP, Women Safety, UP was very positive and encouraging.
