Freedom Week

To celebrate the gift of freedom that Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi has given to more than 90,000 children till date, the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation is celebrating “The Freedom Week” with effect from December 10, which is the International Human Rights Day. The week-long celebrations include a virtual webinar on the journey of Satyarthi movement , a series of online consultations on trafficking , video messages, painting, debate and theatrical activities by children belonging to slum areas of Delhi, narration of success stories of our child leaders and a book launch. During the week people from all walks of life who have been a part of the movement at some point or the other shall narrate their stories and experiences. The week-long celebrations will come to an end with a musical evening on December 17.

The International Human Rights Day is a befitting occasion for us to rededicate ourselves to the call of action of Mr. Kailash Satyarthi to create a child friendly world. The Nobel Peace Prize that was conferred upon Mr. Satyarthi six years ago on this day, had overnight brought in sharp focus the plight of millions of children who are languishing in slavery, exploitation and violence in the so called modern world, and for whom he has been waging a battle relentlessly since 1980.
