Ajit Paswan (name changed) of Sirsia Kala village of Adapur block of East Champaran district had gone to Bangalore in search of work and began working in a bag factory where he was made to work for the last 5 years and was not allowed to return home. In March 2021, when the child’s case was brought to the notice of the Campaigns team of KSCF during a public awareness campaign, an application was then taken from the family members in the name of the factory owner for further action. During the mass dialogue program of Motihari held on 18 March 2021 by the Campaigns team, this incident was presented by the victim’s family and action was requested.
Post this program, on the initiative of KSCF, District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committee and Labour Superintendent were informed about the child’s condition by the victim’s family. Due to the intervention of the law enforcement agencies, pressure was put on the factory owner, as a result of which Ajit Paswan (name changed) was freed in the same month itself. The family members of the child expressed their gratitude to KSCF for this noble cause.
