KSCF and District Administration, Vidisha Distribute COVID-19 Care Kits in Ganjbasoda, Madhya Pradesh

Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation (KSCF) collaborated with the District Administration, Vidisha to distribute COVID-19 care kits in 30 villages of the Ganjbasoda block.

The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India has had devastating effects on the lives of the people. Acute shortage of medical care and lifesaving instruments contributed to the pandemic induced crisis. As the third wave of the COVID-19 may affect children severely, it calls for preparation to strengthen the health and child care system to minimize the pandemic’s effects on the children. Therefore, KSCF devised a plan to provide for the medical and health care needs of the children living in the interior villages /hard to reach children in India.

Leela Jain, Member of Legislative Assembly, Ganj Basoda, Vidisha inaugurated the COVID-19 care kit distribution. Roshan Rai, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Vidisha, Ravindra Chidat, Block Health Medical Officer and Komal Upadhyay, Child Development Project Officer attended the event. KSCF distributed the COVID-19 care kits in 30 villages where it implements one of its flagship programmes, Bal Mitra Gram. One kit includes all necessary equipment required in the COVID-19 treatment such as oxygen concentrator to Oximeter, Nebulizer, Infrared Thermometer, Glucometer, Facemask, PPE kit, Gloves, Vaporizer, and Sanitizer.

On this occasion, MLA  Leena Jain said “ The work started by Kailash Satyarthi towards the elimination of child labour and child exploitation should continue until the goal is achieved. We have to ensure collectively that no child should be out of school or in child labour in 20 villages which have been adopted today”.
