Madhya Pradesh Government Signs MoU with KSCF to Create Child Friendly Village

The Department of Women and Child Development, Madhya Pradesh, and Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation (KSCF) signed an MoU in Bhopal on 10th November 2021  to adopt the latter’s  Bal Mitra Gram(BMG)  Programme in 10 districts of the state. KSCF will provide knowledge and technical support to the administration to implement the programme in  100 villages. KSCF.

The Bal Mitra Gram™ (BMG™) or Child Friendly Village is a flagship programme of KSCF is the one-stop solution for holistic child protection. It works towards preventing child exploitation such as child traffickingchild labour and child marriage right at its source along with addressing other cross-cutting issues of education, child sexual abusewater, sanitation, hygiene and livelihood.  Taking democratic actions to empower the community based stakeholders, through a rights based approach, this model breaks the systemic barriers of oppression, in access to rights and injustice. Currently operational in 6 States across India, BMGs are changing lives one child at a time.

KSCF’s intervention in Ganj Basoda block, Vidisha district has transformed 10 villages child-friendly, and another 20 villages have recently been added to its grassroots operation in Vidisha district. These 30 villages are in addition to the 100 villages where the joint intervention of KSCF and the state government will transform them child-friendly.

Dr Rama Rao Bhosle, Director, DoWCD, MP, signed the MoU on behalf of the State Government. Mr Shard .C. Sinha (IPS- Rtd) CEO of KSCF signed the MoU on behalf of KSCF.
