Almost 10,000 People Across Jharkhand’s Mica-Dependent Villages Spread Awareness on Important Issues Related to Child Protection During Diwali Celebrations
Jharkhand’s Mica Belt was illuminated with thousands of diyas lit up by children and adults of our Bal Mitra Grams (Child-Friendly Villages). These diyas not just marked the festival of lights, but gave out some meaningful messages to society. Child leaders and women leaders across mica-dependent villages generated awareness on the issue of child marriage and the dark reality of child labour involved in the making of firecrackers. They urged communities to extend their support in ending child marriage and boycotting firecrackers to put an end to child labour in the fireworks industry.
